Philosophy

Lift Up Your Voice is a voice lessons discovery service offering one-on-one lessons in the comfort of your own home. We teach voice lessons in all styles to both adults and children. We welcome beginner, intermediate and advanced students.

The Lift Up Your Voice staff is comprised of experienced musicians and vocal instructors who range from post-graduate level singers to high level performers with years of experience working in the professional music business. Every Lift Up Your Voice teacher is patient, enthusiastic and ready to help each student discover their own unique voice! Our teachers are committed to teaching healthy and functional vocal technique based on the individual needs of the student while providing a fun and open environment to discover your true voice! We all share a philosophy that learning to sing should be safe and enjoyable as well as educational. We know that an inspired student is more inclined to practice and enjoy their discovery process. We tailor lessons specifically to each student, practice positive reinforcement and encourage our students to take an active role in the direction of their lessons by helping to choose music they'd like to sing and developing their own personal goals.

While the core values of lessons with Lift Up Your Voice include learning how to sing in various styles of music in a vocally healthy way, our goal for each student is to balance fundamentals of vocal technique with complimentary studies that nurture each student's musical and creative goals. Lift Up Your Voice lessons can encompass numerous elements of music education including note reading, basic music theory, ear training, and improvisation. Students and teachers will design the best musical approach for the lessons together!

The Lift Up Your Voice community

Lift Up Your Voice promises to be a fun & musical experience for teachers and students alike! From experience, we know that bringing music lessons into the student's home is a very rewarding way of sharing musical experiences for students, families, and the teachers. We count it an honor to be able to learn with our students in this way. And, as we start this new Lift Up Your Voice experience together, we have some goals we are striving towards, as well!

Outside of the private lesson studio, we know from experience how rewarding it is to have a community of support in your musical education. A singer is a musician who must practice and build their art form through many avenues, and Lift Up Your Voice would like provide opportunities where we can all practice and learn about these different aspects together! A couple ways we hope to learn together are through monthly community classes taught by a different Lift Up Your Voice teacher each month where students receive the opportunity to practice performing in front of other students, and also through Lift Up Your Voice community recitals! Please stay connected and check the website for information on when we are able to offer these very beneficial musical opportunities!
